Born in Phoenix, AZ and raised in Merced, CA, Dr. Moua first formed an interest in dentistry after observing his brother-in-law, a dental technician, at work. After three years of undergraduate studies at University of the Pacific in California, he ventured northeast to study dentistry at Boston University, graduating with honors in 2003. A year later, he completed his general practice residency at University Medical Center in Fresno, CA. Dr. Moua has extensive interest and work experience in non-profit dentistry, having worked at Lindquist Dental Clinic for Children and having acted as Dental Director of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe. He has been in private practice since 2012.
Dr. Moua has also trained at the world-renowned Kois Center right here in Seattle. He takes a holistic, science-based team approach and believes patients deserve to understand the “why” behind different treatment options. His extensive professional development, combined with his patience for explaining things, helps patients to be more informed about the best care for their overall wellness. He is a big proponent of preventive care and believes it is the key to minimizing future problems. Dr. Moua loves being a dentist, and it shows in his dedication to his patients.
Outside of dentistry, he and his partner, Brian, enjoy traveling internationally (particularly to Europe and Asia) or hitting the road with their travel trailer to explore the Pacific NW. They have two furry children, Sookie, a dachshund yorkie, and Tommy, a tabby cat. Dr. Moua has taken many college courses on winemaking and is particularly fond of French wine. When time allows, he enjoys boxing, playing basketball, tennis, or listening to his vinyl collection. Dr. Moua is easy to converse with, but don’t get him started talking about wine; he may never stop!
